Our client’s objectives
Our client, the university chair “PADE” (Sustainable Food Practices and Trust), aims to support and contribute to strengthening trust, from farm to fork, among stakeholders (companies, public authorities, associations and consumers) wishing to promote sustainable food, by helping to establish sustainable production and consumption methods.
The Chair’s activities are structured around:
- research projects related to sustainable food
- events and meetings involving the Chair’s partners, students from the University of Western Brittany, as well as the general public
- the OPADE observatory: Sustainable Food Practices Observatory
Needs
- Access to a survey platform to put online three questionnaires ranging from 11 minutes to 17 minutes, depending on the year.
- Recruit 1,500 consumers each year, split into 2 samples, as follows:
- Sample no. 1: 1,200 men and women aged 20 and over, living in mainland France, with a sample representative of the French population aged 20 and over, based on the criteria of Gender (M/F), Age (6 classes), Socio-professional category (6 groups) and UDA5 - source: INSEE, mainland France.
- Sample no. 2: 300 men and women aged 20 and over, living in Brittany, with a sample representative of the population of Brittany aged 20 and over, based on the criteria of Gender (M/F), Age (6 classes) and Socio-professional category (6 groups) - source: INSEE, mainland France.
- Access an export of the collected data in order to clean and analyze the responses.
Our support
- Based on INSEE data, we calculated quotas across all criteria (gender, age, socio-professional category, geographic area) to build the 2 representative samples.
- We provided the OPADE research team with our e-Survey® survey platform, with access to “Premium” features, an approximately 45-minute demo, and email and phone support 5 days a week for putting the questionnaires online.
- We carried out the setup (panelist IDs, redirection links, …) of the study and the questionnaire testing, along with a list of tailored recommendations.
- We collected the data from our panel, then performed an adjustment by deletion, removing respondents in overrepresented categories so as to obtain two representative samples across all predefined quotas (with no overrepresented category and no underrepresented category, and without any weighting).
The OPADE research team was then able to download directly from e-Survey® the export of the collected data in Excel format with 4 tabs: coded data, labeled data, response time per respondent for each question, as well as frequency tables.
