The 17th UEFA European Football Championship kicked off in Germany on 14 June. Against this backdrop, 24 teams from all over Europe, over 50 matches to follow and one question on everyone's lips: who will win?
In daily contact with its European panellists, MIS Group questioned 3,000 of them, spread across France, Germany, Italy, Spain and England, about their interest in the competition and their predictions.
Firstly, the survey confirms the popularity of football, with 87% of the sample planning to watch even a few matches (and up to 93% in France). The enthusiasm is particularly strong in Spain, with 24% of the sample planning to follow all the matches.
The data also show the patriotism that such a tournament awakens. Indeed, despite the trends and predictions of the various sports betting sites, each country places its own team at the top of the podium:

However, despite being predicted winners by the bookmakers, the English do not seem as confident about the Three Lions' victory, with only 32% of respondents predicting their team will top the tournament. This measured figure could be the result of too many disappointments in recent tournaments, during which the team has never won.
